Lined Curtain | Indeko Studio

Bumph Interlining

Bumph interlining is a layer of fabric between the drape and the blockout lining and as such is never seen. Generally made of wool, cotton or polyester, it is best used for improving soundproofing and enhanced insulation. As the extra layer both prevents soundwaves from travelling as far as they might otherwise and traps heat in the resulting air pockets. Adding another layer to your curtains can increase their volume, however, it’s important to remember this also adds further weight, and so you should carefully consider how these curtains are to be installed in your space.
